A good year...

I haven't been the greatest about keeping up with this blog, but for my first new years resolution; I am going to be better about it! Some people think new year's resolutions are silly, however, I think they are pretty cool. I feel that everyday we should make a resolution to do things better than we did the day before. I mean honestly, whats so wrong with wanting to better ourselves? I have never heard of any ones New Year's resolutions being ones to harm themselves, but rather to do things better. It's cool to think of putting the past year behind you, and looking forward to starting new & fresh!

This year was an amazingly awesome year for me and my family. But at the same time a bit hard toward the end. Starting with the highlights... I got married this year to my Best Friend Sara, and officially gained a whole new family! One of my best friends from my childhood, Terry(who was in my wedding party), got married as well! And I had the honor of being in his wedding. My little sister graduated from high school, went to discipleship training school, was an evangelist in Thailand, and got her first JOB! I couldn't be more proud of her and how much I've been able to watch her grow into this amazing young lady that has a love for Jesus and a genuine concern for the good of others.

I feel that I made a lot of progress in my photography. I am motivated to learn even more this coming year, and can't wait to look back and see how far along I've come. I want to make it a point to notice an improvement in my photography every year. May it be learning new techniques or just seeing an improvement in composition. However, I need any of you who read this to help me. I need you to text me, call me, e-mail me, and let me know what you think of my photos. I want to be better... everyday... BETTER. I will not be able to please everyone but I am willing to take on that challenge ;0)

There were so many more things that were rad about this year, but I also need your help in prayer.

My grandmother, Anita had a stroke this year and it has effected her speech and memory, and mobility. She is getting soooo much better, and it has been very encouraging to watch her progress. We love this progress but my family needs her to be healthy. She is the biggest prayer warrior, and I just pray that although we may not be able to understand her all the time, I pray she still is able to talk to her Father in heaven. I have watched her prayers transform lives in my family this year... and am inspired to pray like my grandmother.

In other "Coronado New's" there was a HUGE hit to my new family, when we found out that Sara's mother, Pat, was told that her cancer was back. After around 8 years her cancer had not only come back, but it had spread. The best news that we have gotten about this situation is that the cancer is in fact treatable. We don't know what all this means yet, but we are praying for complete healing.

There are so many cool and exciting things going on in the world as well. Although I did not vote for him, our new president has been able to knock down a huge racial wall. Racism still exists in America and the rest of the world, but this was definitely a unique step in what I hope is the right direction. I am very concerned with some of his views, but I know that being president is a HUGE responsibility and pray that the decisions he makes impact our world in a positive way.

There are so many links I would like to add... I love how many awesome organizations are out there... and a lot of them started by young people. I challenge you to act. This year, be a part of something. Be inspired to better yourself and those around you. And know that there is a God that LOVES YOU very much.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas & have a happy and inspired New Year!

Created to Create 08

This past Monday night there was an awesome event that my buddies from BFC (Boarders for Christ) put on at North Coast Calvery Chapel. They were able to throw together a movie premier for a rad movie that explains how they got this stellar organization started... how it started from a grass roots dream of a couple kids from Idaho, to a company that is Inspired and Lead by God to do Amazing things they never would have imagined a little over 10 years ago.

They will be going to Egypt at the end of the month to do skate demos and give away skateboards and spread the Love of Christ to kids... This event was organized to help raise awareness of why the feel lead to do what they do, and to get support for this trip.

You can check out pictures here:

And put in: created08

Check out their website and sign up for their newsletter so you can stay informed. And remember you were Created to Create, I encourage you to live your life inspired and to do something for someone else... theirs more to life than selfishness, selflessness should be the new trend.

Did you know I LOVE to COOK!?!

I don't know if any of you know this; but I LOVE to COOK!

It's so relaxing and gives me an opportunity to use my creativity in a different way other than taking photos. In the past month I have seen a few different cooking shows, and tonight they all collectively inspired me to cook up a little something special for my wife and I.

Last month my friend Brad made this balsamic vinegar and brown sugar reduction sauce to put on a salad. It was amazing so tonight I tried that. I also have watched cooking shows on sauteing vegetables, one on making pizzas, and last night I was watching a special on making barbeque. So with all those things in mind I decided to tackle the task of making a Balsalmic vinegar & Greens salad with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and FETA! I also made a special Barbecue sauce to help season a Barbecue Chicken Pizza with beer & butter battered onions, smoked gouda, mozzarella, feta, tomatoes, and topped with cilantro.

It all turned out way better than I thought, and of course I put a little Tobasco on mine to give it a lil' kick; Sara had hers as is and was going back for seconds. Fun times!

Wylie Sullivan is here!

This labor day weekend I had the opportunity to take some photos of a new addition to the Sullivan family, baby Wylie! He was the easiest model in the world... all he did was sleep ;o)

Here are some of the moments I was able to capture with God's little gift:
